Is CharGem free?＋
Grade 1 is completely free. Grades 2–6 are a paid upgrade. You can explore and learn a lot before deciding to unlock more.
Who creates the account — the parent or the child?＋
A parent or guardian creates and controls the account, then adds a profile for each child. Kids never need an email or password of their own.
Does it work without the internet?＋
Yes. Learning works fully offline; your child's progress is saved on the device and only syncs to your account when you sign in.
Traditional or Simplified? Zhuyin or Pinyin?＋
Both. You can choose Traditional (繁體) or Simplified (简体) characters and Zhuyin (注音) or Pinyin readings in Settings — great for Taiwan, mainland, and heritage families.
How do I delete my child's data?＋
In ⚙️ Settings you can edit or delete a child's profile (which erases their progress), reset progress, or delete the whole account to remove cloud data. You can also email us to request deletion.
Are the friends features safe for kids?＋
Yes. Kids connect only by exchanging a friend code — there's no search or discovery — and can only send preset cheer stickers, never free-text messages. A parent gate protects these features.
